The Anxiety Chronicles

After doing my daily guided meditation, for my anxiety, I decided to look at other videos by  BEXLIFE. What is Happiness?

Jen talks about the importance of letting go of negativity and focusing on the positive! Please visit her wonderful blog!

The Anxiety Chronicles

The reason it can be difficult to feel completely happy throughout our days, is because it’s difficult to accept ourselves, flaws and all. I know for me, I’m very critical of myself and when my anxiety takes over, I think about 101 reasons why a person may not like me or 101 things I have done wrong. This is not the way we should be thinking. I for one know I’m too hard on myself. It’s difficult to stop worrying and thinking, when anxiety takes hold of us. However, we have to try our best to push aside the negative thoughts and accept our quirks! Regretting things of the past, will not help us to move forward in peace. Worrying about the present or the future, will not allow us to enjoy the little things in life. Judging ourselves and others, will only fill us with distain and ill feelings…

Life will bring many challenges, it’s not suppose to be easy. Just remember you are strong enough to deal with whatever life throws your way. After all, you’re still here aren’t you? ❤️

I Wish…

Yesterday, I reblogged the post that Jen from The Anxiety Chronicles posted. The post was about an article featured on The Mighty about what people with mental health issues want for the holidays and in general. Now, while I appreciate the fact that I get through my anxiety and that even though I struggle, I’m still alive and well, I’d still like to get better at managing my anxiety. Also, while I’m appreciative of all the tangible gifts I’ve received today and in general, I will admit that there’s something I really want that money cannot buy. So, what do I want…?

I want to enjoy life and be with my family and friends without having to struggle with anxiety. I want to go back to just living and not always worrying about so much.

I almost feel bad saying this. The truth is that I am so grateful for all that I have in life. I have a great family, good friends, and people who really care about me. I have all of you who read, “like”, comment on, and follow my blog, and I’ve had great experiences! I’ve been given the opportunity to attend great schools and my family has always been here for me. A part of me hates to complain, but let’s face it. It would be nice if we didn’t have to struggle. It would be nice if those of us who struggle with mental health issues could just get through things a little easier. So, be grateful for what you have, but don’t forget to strive to improve your life. I wish you all the best and hope you all had a Merry Christmas! I know that I had a pretty good one even though I struggled a little.

Thanks again for all of you who wished me a Merry Christmas and for all of your kindness and support!

…But You Have To Keep Going

Jen posted this amazing quote on her blog and offered some advice for the times when we feel like giving up. Please visit her blog! She’s a wonderful person and writer.

The Anxiety Chronicles

I know life can hit you hard. There are times you want to give up. DON’T! Hold on to faith and believe that you can overcome whatever obstacle is hindering at the moment. It may seem like a never ending battle, but I am proof that things can get better. You can eventually be in a place in your life where you feel genuinely happy and blessed. So please, keep on going. Keep on living. Learn from the mistakes of your past and better yourself. You’re thank yourself when you reach that place. Xoxo

The 5 Lies Ruining Your Mental Health

Please check out this awesome post by Jen on misconceptions people have of those who struggle with mental health issues! Thanks!

The Anxiety Chronicles

I read an article from Psychology Today called The 5 Lies Ruining Your Mental Health. A couple of these misconceptions hit a nerve with me.

Lienumber two states that many people who suffer from a mental illness are weak. That couldn’t be further from the truth.People who suffer from mental illness are NOT weak. We can be such a strong and resilient bunch! I suffer from Anxiety and it’s because of this that I push myself to be better. If something scares me, I make it a point to go after it. It might take me a bit longer to work up the nerve, but I get it done.

When I prove to myself that I can take on any challenge or obstacle, it is empowering. Who knows how much I would have accomplished without my anxiety. It really has helped me to step out of my comfort zone…
