Unpopular Opinion Book Tag

I just discovered the Unpopular Opinion Book Tag on Sophie’s blog, Blame Chocolate. I thought it looked pretty cool, so I decided to participate!

I’m gonna go ahead and tweak this one a little. I read the Harry Potter series and although I really liked them, I feel that they’re a bit overrated. I know a lot of people are reading this shaking their heads, but it’s just how I feel!

While maybe not considered a popular book, I love Greg Bear’s Dead Lines. In fact, it’s my favorite book! For some reason, a good amount of the reviews I’ve read haven’t been very positive. I don’t get it!

Google Images

I’m not really sure, though the ending to If You Could See Me Now by Peter Straub is a little strange and unclear. If what I think is a relationship is really supposed to be one, then I don’t like it!

Image result for If You Could See Me Now Peter Straub
Google Images

I’m not sure about this one. All I can think of are actors and actresses people like that I don’t!

Many authors of vampire novels, etc. I just can’t get into them.

I have no idea!

Pretty much all popular series out there. I know that sounds horrible, but it’s true. So many books that are all the rage, I just don’t get into!

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. The book is good, but the movie is even better!

Movie Love Tag

I know I just finished doing a tag, but I felt like making my own and having it be about movies. Therefore, without further ado…

1.) What movie could you not live without?

The Back to the Future trilogy – especially the first one. It’s always been my favorite movie and I could (and probably have) watch it a million times. I watch it at least once a year! Fantastic movie!

Image result for Back to the Future
Google Images

2.) Oh brother! What movie did you hate?

13 Going on 30. I’m sorry, but how do people like this movie?!

Image result for 13 going on 30
Google Images

3.) Such a good point! What movie did you find meaningful and prolific?

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest has a great message and great actors. It’s actually my dad’s favorite movie!

Image result for One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
Google Images

4.) If only I could remember… A movie that you’d like to possibly revisit because it’s been so long since you last saw it.

Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion. I remember seeing this movie when I was younger. I’m not even sure if I saw the whole thing or if I liked it. Maybe one day I’ll have to watch it again.

5.) Well, that was scary. What’s your favorite horror movie?

Again, it’s technically a mini series, but I have to go with Storm of the Century. I love it!

Image result for Storm of the Century
Google Images

6.) Well, that was disappointing! What movie did you think would be a lot better than it actually was?

Hotel Transylvania 2! I thought the first one was hilarious and the second one was just so…blah!

Image result for Transylvania 2
Google Images

7.) Just saw it and loved it! Last good movie you saw?

Frequency starring Dennis Quaid. I’ve been watching the TV show and thought I’d check out the movie! It was fantastic and even better than the show!

Image result for Frequency movie
Google Images

8.) I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it! What movie do you really want to see?

Office Christmas Party! It seems so funny and Jennifer Aniston is my favorite actress! I also really like Justin Bateman!

Image result for Office Christmas Party movie
Google Images

9.) Has everyone seen this movie but me? A popular movie that you’ve never seen.

Die Hard! Seriously everyone seems to have seen this movie except for me! What’s up with that? I’m gonna have to get around to checking this movie out!

10.) Christmas is soon! What’s your favorite Christmas movie?

Santa Claus with Dudley Moore!

Character to Music Tag!

So after participating in yesterday’s tag, What Would That Villain Read?, I’ve decided to create a tag of my own. I can’t say for sure though that no one has ever done a tag like this before since I’ve seen a lot of them and know that there are a lot out there. Anyway, here are the rules:

The Rules:

1.) Choose 5 or more characters from a book, show, or movie

2.) For each character, pick at least one song you think they’d listen to and try to explain your reason for picking that song

3.) Tag whoever you want

My Characters:

1.) Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl….All American Girl by Train

Blair from Gossip Girl (and many other characters from the show, such as Serena) think that they’re ‘all that and a bag of chips’ and just wake up looking perfect. This song definitely relates to them and I can see them liking it for that reason. It is a great song, by the way!

Image result for Blair Waldorf
Google Images

2.) Crowley from Supernatural…Aint No Rest for the Wicked by Cage the Elephant

Aint No Rest for the Wicked is a great song and I think Crowley would LOVE it! Think about it: he lives on fear and deception and finds it super fun!

Image result for Crowley Supernatural
Google Images

3.) Dean Winchester from Supernatural…American Pie by Don Mclean

I definitely think Dean would love this song. It talks about serious issues, drinking, and cars! Dean loves his Impala!

Image result for Dean Impala Supernatural
Google Images

4.) Marty Mcfly from Back to the Future…I Want a New Drug by Huey Lewis and the News

Maybe it’s because a couple of his songs are already in the movie, but I think Huey Lewis and the News’s I Want a New Drug would be a song Marty from Back to the Future would like. It just seems like his kind of music!

Image result for Marty Mcfly
Google Images

5.) Willa from The Finder…Pirate on the Run by Pat Monahan

I really liked Willa from The Finder. All she wants to be is independent and free, though she also wants to be respected. She’s tough and strong. I think she would like the song Pirate on the Run because of her love of independence and her gypsy ways.

Image result for Willa the finder
Google Images

6.) Maya from the book Fool Me Once…Bitch by Meredith Brooks

Maybe she wouldn’t like to admit it, but I think Bitch by Meredith Brooks describes Maya from Harlan Coben’s Fool Me Once in many ways. There’s a lot to Maya’s character.

Ringing in the New Year Book Tag!

My good friend Rae from Bookmark Chronicles just tagged me for the Ringing in the New Year Book Tag! Thanks so much, Rae! I’m going to make the post colorful like Rae did (plus she was the one to show me how to get color text!).

The Rules:

  • Link to the person who tagged you
  • Link to the creator of the tag – Rae @ Bookmark Chronicles
  • Share the tag image
  • Answer the questions below
  • Tag friends (or not if you don’t feel like it)

Best book and/or series that you’ve read in 2016:

I read Cradle and All by James Patterson and man, was it good!

Image result for cradle and all
Google Images

Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more of in the new year

None, honestly. 😦

Most anticipated book turned movie/tv show?

Hmmm….I just found out from Rae that they’re supposed to make a show out of A Series of Unfortunate Events. That might be interesting. Other than that, I’m not sure.

Name a character that you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight (if there is one)

I know this is a book challenge, but I’m going to go with Michael from Prison Break. He’s such an amazing character and he’s gorgeous! As for a book, I’m not sure.

What’s on your TBR for 2016? (Top 5 will suffice if it’s an extremely long list!)

Is this supposed to be 2017?

1.) Woman of God by James Patterson – I started reading it but took so long I had to take it back to the library!

2.) More Harlan Coben books

3.) More James Patterson books

How many books do you hope to read in 2017?

No specific amount. I read what I read. At least two or three would be nice.

Will you participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge or any others (PopSugar, Read the Books You Buy, etc.)

No. I’m honestly not really a fan of reading challenges. I think you should read whatever and whenever you want.

Any New Year’s Resolutions? (Bookish, blogging, and otherwise)

Bookish – Just read more in general. I love reading and I think sometimes I just kind of stop.

Blogging – Continue blogging when I want and what I’m passionate about. Continue trying to help people through my writing

Otherwise – Practice getting through my anxiety, exercise more, and work on a story I want to start writing!

Inside Out Book Tag!

I was checking out my reader and saw this on Kendra’s blog! I love the questions so I decided to participate! Please check out Kendra’s blog, Reads and Treats!

Inside Out Book Tag
Found on Kendra’s Blog!

I: Inside Flap / Back of Book Summaries. Too much info? Or not enough? Discuss!

I think the back of the book gives just enough info but I don’t usually read the inside flap in case they give away too much.

N: New Book. Be Honest: Which format do you want it in? Audio, hardcover, paperback, or ebook?

100% Paperback.

S: Scribble While You Read? Do you write in your books, or keep them clean? Tell us why.

Keep it clean! The only writing that should be in a book is the author’s!

I: In Your Best Written Voice Read Us Your Favorite First Sentence From a Book.

I have no idea what my favorite sentence is right now!

D: Does It Matter to You Whether the Author is Male or Female when Deciding to Read a Book? What if you’re unsure of author’s gender?

I’ve always been drawn more to male authors. I know this is going to sound horrible (especially since I want to be an author), but I feel like women usually write romance and young adult stuff – two things I’m really not into. However, there have been books that I really liked and then found out that a woman wrote it after all!

E: Ever Read Ahead? Or have you read the last page before you got there?

Only when it came to some books for school. I’m sorry but some of those are just boring!

O: Organized Bookshelves or Outrageous Bookshelves?

Organized. However, if things aren’t perfect, that’s okay with me too.

U: Under Oath: Have You Ever Bought a Book Based On the Cover? … The Cover Alone?

Probably when I was younger. I wouldn’t do it now.

T: Take it Outside or Stay In?

Stay in. Reading outside can be okay at times though too.

50 Movie Tag Questions!

  3. What was the last movie that you’ve watched and liked?  That I’ve seen before – Knight and Day, that I hadn’t until recently – Schindler’s List.
  4. What was the last movie that you’ve watched and hated?  I didn’t finish it but American Beauty. What the heck?!
  5. What is your most favorite movie of all time?  Back to the Future!!!
  6. Your most favorite guilty pleasure movie?  I’m going to say Bounty Hunter and The Tourist because they’re two movies I really like that everyone seems to hate.
  7. What movie/movies have you watched a million times already?  Back to the Future (I, II, III), Roger Rabbit, and so many others!
  8. Are you the type who watches a movie on its first day of showing?  No.
  9. Do you use Fandango or do you pre-booked movie tickets?  Neither.
  10. Movie house, Blu-ray, or download?  Regular DVDs or Blu-rays. I find Blu-rays a little overrated.
  11. How often do you go to a movie house to watch a movie?  I used to go a decent amount, but I haven’t in a while.
  12. What are the movies that made you cry?  A Walk to Remember
  13. Do you watch foreign films?  Not really.
  14. What are your favorite foreign films?
  15. Who are your favorite directors?  Steven Spielberg.
  16. Are you particular with movie scores, soundtracks, and musics?  Not really.

  24. What is the best movie adapted from a book?  Sunday’s at Tiffany’s

  36. Any movie character you can relate to?  Not off the top of my head.
  37. If you are to only watch five movies for the rest of your life, what would the movies be?
Back to the Future I, II, and III, Roger Rabbit, Young Frankenstein, and Love at First Bite
  38. Your least favorite movie of all time?  That’s tough. I’m going to say Just Married. I saw it a l…o…n…g
time ago but remembered thinking that it was awful!
  39. Have you ever watched a movie based on the lead actor/actress only?  Yes and no. If a movie has my favorite actor or actress in it but is still really bad, I won’t watch it. However, I have tried watching stuff because my favorite actor/actress was in it. I try watching a lot of movies with Jennifer Aniston, Will Smith, Tim Daly, and Kyle Chandler in them.
  40. What movie you expected and wanted to be good but failed you?  Hotel Transylvania 2.
I loved the first one and the second one was horrible.
  41. Favorite movie character of all time? I am not going to pick one! Marty and Doc from Back to the Future.
  42. Favorite movie villain? Andre Linoge
  43. Any movie sequel that you’re still waiting to see? Independence Day: Resurgence

  47. Favorite movie lines?  “Great Scott!” “When this hits 88 miles per hour, you’re going to see some serious shit!”
  48. TV series, books, computer games, or movies in order of interest?  Movies, TV series, Books, Computer games. Now if you asked me what I think is most important, the list would be way different!
  49. Lastly, if your life story is to be made into a movie, who would you like to portray you? Who should be directing it and what would be the title?
This question always seems hard to me. Maybe Katie Holmes? I have no clue. I don’t know who I’d have direct it. What should it be titled? Writing Through Life? I dunno.
