Time To Rate Some Shows!

Hey guys! So it’s been pretty exciting watching the new shows for Fall. I’ve decided to rate the ones I’ve watched so far! For the record, I still have some more to watch!

The Good Place – 4.5/5 stars

The Good Place is hilarious! I love Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. I also love William Jackson Harper’s character! If you want to watch a show that’ll crack you up, watch The Good Place!

Kevin Can Wait 4/5 Stars

Kevin Can Wait is another really funny show. While I’m not in love with the character Chale and while the acting isn’t as good as in The Good Place, it’s still a great, funny show!

Timeless – 4.5/5 Stars

So I was really excited for this show and while at first I was a little worried that the acting wouldn’t be very good (I’d only seen one of the actors in something – Matt Latner in the newer version of 90210), I ended up LOVING the show and loving all the main characters!

MacGyver 1/5 Stars

No, no, no! I watched the first episode and was not impressed. AT ALL! I thought it might actually be good, but it wasn’t. Now maybe I was trying too hard to compare it to the original (which was great and can be found on Netflix!), but I was very disappointed. First of all, way too much of the show was narrated. Second of all, they labeled on the show like what everything was. I think we know what a paper clip looks like!

July TV Show Photo Challenge – July 30th

Today’s challenge is saddest TV death. While there’s been characters that I miss more than the following, I found this the saddest death. Warning: If you haven’t watched up to the end of season 5 of Supernatural and don’t wish to know who dies, STOP READING!

The saddest TV death is… the death of Ellen and Jo in Supernatural! I felt like crying when they died. Even though they weren’t main characters, I really liked them and the scene was really touching!

July TV Show Photo Challenge – July 29th

Today’s challenge is worst season finale cliffhanger. I really didn’t know what to put for this one. However, I was mentioning to Rae from Bookmark Chronicles how I was looking forward to some returning TV shows this fall and I mentioned how I’m going to watch The Flash though I hated how the last one ended. So, thank you Rae for reminding me about that episode! In my opinion, the worst season finale cliffhanger was The Flash’s The Race of His Life. I hated the fact that Barry goes back in time and changes the one thing that set everything in motion! It’s the whole point of the show for Pete’s sake! Also, I liked season 1 a lot but I feel like season 2 started to go downhill. I hope that season 3 might pick up, but I’m just not sure that’s possible.

I’m curious…what did you guys think of the season 2 finale of Flash?

July TV Show Photo Challenge – July 28th

So today’s challenge is a little tricky. Three really good season finale cliffhangers came to mind. First, I thought of Supernatural’s Swan Song which was supposed to be the last episode ever (thank gosh it wasn’t!), then I thought of Lois and Clark: The New Adventure’s of Superman’s Big Girls Don’t Fly, and finally, Haven’s Thanks for the Memories. It was a really tough decision, but in the end, I’ve decided to go with…Haven’s Thanks for the Memories. Audrey makes a huge decision and things get pretty crazy!

Commentary #31: “July TV Show Photo Challenge” (Day 26)

Hey guys! I wanted to reblog this post by Laura Beth because although not quite my favorite Sci-Fi show, I absolutely LOVE Quantum Leap!

Favorite Sci-Fi Show

I’ll admit, science fiction hasn’t been my favorite genre.

However, thanks to my husband, I’ve been warming up to it over the years.

As I was researching this post, I realized there are quite a few sci-fi shows that I have enjoyed, within the last six years or so:

  • Firefly (2002-2003)
  • Lost (2004-2010)
  • Fringe (2008-2013)
  • The multiple Star Trek series (We’re working through Voyager (1995-2001) now, which I like a lot, but TNG [1987-1994] is my personal favorite.)
  • The Outer Limits (1995-2002) [Broadcast on the aptly-named Comet channel through our antenna.]
  • Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction (1997-2002)
  • Futurama (1999-2013)
  • Jessica Jones (2015-present)
  • The Flash (2014-present)
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003)
  • The X-Files (1993-2016)
  • Doctor Who (1963-present)
  • The Twilight Zone (1959-1964)

However, there is one that stands out.

July TV Show Photo Challenge – July 20th

Okay so for today’s challenge, I’m kind of doing things in reverse. Instead of a TV show that was adapted into a movie, I’m doing a movie that was adapted into a TV show! I’ve seen both the movie and the show and like them both. However, I have to say that I think I actually prefer the TV show!

The Spotlight Movie Tag!

Okay guys, so this is gonna sound really weird, but I had a dream that I created this tag! No joke! I even dreamed that I was really lazy and didn’t create a picture for it. Well, I remembered my dream so I created this tag (and decided not to be lazy and to create an image for it!)

The Rules:

1.) Post this image into your post

2.) Tag whoever you want

3.) Have fun!

The Questions:

1.) Uh, oh, not again!  What’s a movie that you think is too predictable?

I feel bad saying this, because I loved the movie, but I could pretty much guess what would happen!

2.) I can’t believe I’m crying! What’s a movie that made you cry or close to it?

At the moment I can’t think of any, but I know some shows have made me feel this way. Like this scene from Friends. It was just so heartwrenching!

3.) Ah, the simplest things make me laugh! What’s a movie that even the smallest of comments in it make you crack up?

I love this movie! Even the quickest and shortest of lines make me laugh. For example, while it’s a sad line, when Judd Hurst says, “All you need is love. John Lennon. Smart man. Shot in the back, very sad.” – just the way he says it, cracks me up! Also I love Will Smith and he says a lot of great, funny lines!

4.) I don’t care if this movie is animated, I still love it! What’s an animated movie that you love?

I’m going to list two here. I know that most of you know that I love Roger Rabbit (which I do!) so I’m also going to list the first Hotel Transylvania! I didn’t care very much for the second!

4.) I don’t care if this might not be possible in real life, I love this movie anyway! What’s a sci-fi movie that you love?

Again, I’m going to list two. You all know I LOVE Back to the Future and that it’s my favorite movie, but I also really like Starman! If you’ve never seen it, you should check it out. I don’t believe in aliens (or that time travel is possible), but I do love the movie(s).

5.) Ugh this movie is awful! What movie did you not like at all?

In all fairness, it’s been a while since I last saw this, but I remember watching it and thinking it was really stupid! Sorry to anyone who likes it!

6.) What’s a romantic comedy that you really like?

Okay, I love SO many so it’s really hard to choose. Romantic comedies are actually my favorite genre of movie. I’m just going to go with Serendipity!

7.) What’s a great horror movie?

This is technically a TV series, but I’m going to go with this anyway! I love Tim Daly (both his acting and just him in general!) and the movie is amazing! Plus Linoge is my favorite villain of all time!

8.) What’s a movie that was made from a book that you really like?

9.) Name a book that you wish they’d make into a movie

The Unwanted, Hell Fire, or Nathaniel by John Saul

10.) What’s a horror movie that you found more stupid than scary?

11.) Really, this is it? What’s a movie that you were highly disappointed with?

Hotel Transylvania 2.

I tag:

Michelle, Books and Movie Addict

Tori’s Stories

The Bookish Underdog

The Melodramatic Confessions of Carla Louise

Reads and Treats

In Silence We Suffer

In Becky’s Head

You’re Not Alone In This World

Anyone who wants to participate! Let me know if you do, I’d love to see your answers!
