Updated Blog – Rest in Piece

Hey guys! I’ve just updated my other blog, Rest in Piece Blog, to get ready for the upcoming release of my new short story collection! The changes aren’t big, but in order to get ready to write about more than just one book, I had to make some minor adjustments.

I am very much looking forward to sharing my new collection with you! I’m not quite sure when it will be published, but it should be fairly soon! There will be five short stories in all and they will be a mixture of fantasy and horror.

I would like to thank those of you who have continued to support me in countless ways. Your friendship and readership both mean the world to me! If you have any questions about my new short story collection, please feel free to let me know!

Thanks,

B.W. Ginsburg

First Round Of Editing Complete!

Writing Update!

B.W. Ginsburg

Hey friends! Great news! I just finished the first round of editing my short stories for my new collection that I hope to publish sometime soon. Now all that needs to be done is the following:

1.) One more round of editing – A family member of mine who gives me constructive criticism is currently in the process of going over the stories for a final time!

2.) Cover Design– My mom will again be helping me with the cover. I’m very excited to see how it comes out!

3.) Formatting – Before publishing, I will make sure that all the formatting is correct. Line and paragraph spacing, inserting the author’s note and dedication page, creating the table of contents, etc.

4.) Publishing – I plan on publishing my short story collection on Kindle Direct Publishing!

Gwendy’s Button Box – A Book Review

Updated – 3/4/17

Hey everyone! I just finished Stephen King and Richard Chizmar’s Gwendy’s Button Box! I decided to review it for you guys! My review can also be found on Goodreads.

Copyright: 2017

Rating: 4/5

My Synopsis:

Gwendy runs up the Suicide Stairs every day so that she can lose weight. One day, she meets a stranger who gives her a strange box with buttons on it. The man states that the box is for only Gwendy and that the box contains two things that she will find quite beneficial – chocolates and coins. Before Gwendy realizes what’s going on, she finds herself responsible for much more than a young adult could ever imagine.

My Opinion:

Gwendy’s Button Box is a fantastic novella. Right from the start, I was intrigued. The story is fast paced and doesn’t have a dull moment. The best books give the reader something to think about and Gwendy’s Button Box definitely achieves this. It makes you question what you would do if you were in the main character’s shoes.

Unpopular Opinion Book Tag

I just discovered the Unpopular Opinion Book Tag on Sophie’s blog, Blame Chocolate. I thought it looked pretty cool, so I decided to participate!

A POPULAR BOOK OR BOOK SERIES THAT YOU DIDN’T LIKE

I’m gonna go ahead and tweak this one a little. I read the Harry Potter series and although I really liked them, I feel that they’re a bit overrated. I know a lot of people are reading this shaking their heads, but it’s just how I feel!

A POPULAR BOOK OR BOOK SERIES THAT EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO HATE BUT YOU LOVE

While maybe not considered a popular book, I love Greg Bear’s Dead Lines. In fact, it’s my favorite book! For some reason, a good amount of the reviews I’ve read haven’t been very positive. I don’t get it!

A POPULAR BOOK GENRE THAT YOU HARDLY REACH FOR.

Romance.

AN OTP THAT YOU DON’T LIKE

I’m not really sure, though the ending to If You Could See Me Now by Peter Straub is a little strange and unclear. If what I think is a relationship is really supposed to be one, then I don’t like it!

A POPULAR/BELOVED CHARACTER THAT YOU DO NOT LIKE

I’m not sure about this one. All I can think of are actors and actresses people like that I don’t!

A POPULAR AUTHOR THAT YOU CAN’T SEEM TO GET INTO

Many authors of vampire novels, etc. I just can’t get into them.

A POPULAR BOOK TROPE THAT YOU’RE TIRED OF SEEING

I have no idea!

A POPULAR SERIES THAT YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN READING.

Pretty much all popular series out there. I know that sounds horrible, but it’s true. So many books that are all the rage, I just don’t get into!

THE SAYING GOES “THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE”, BUT WHAT MOVIE OR TV SHOW ADAPTATION DO YOU PREFER MORE THAN THE BOOK?

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. The book is good, but the movie is even better!

Short Story Collection Update!

Writing Update!

B.W. Ginsburg

Hey everyone! As I recently mentioned, I am currently in the editing process of working on my short story collection that I hope to publish in the near future. In addition to editing, I am re-writing a story that I wrote some years back. I am very excited to share this news with you. Now, there will probably be about five or six short stories included in the collection rather than just the original four. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read my updates and support me in my writing adventure.

Thanks,

B.W. Ginsburg
