What Would That Villain Read? Tag

So I spotted this awesome tag on Kat’s blog, Life and Other Disasters, and thought I’d give it a go!

The Rules:

  • Pick 5+ villains and wonder what books they are most likely to read (feel free to use Lashaan & Trang’s villains or find new ones!)
  • Nominate bloggers! As many as you want!
  • Have fun in the world of villainy!

Rowena from Supernatural

While not my favorite villain (she’s okay), I feel that Rowena would really like the book Wicked since it’s from the view point of a witch and how witches can be misunderstood.

Andre Linoge from Storm of the Century

While maybe not a perfect match, I think Andre Linoge might enjoy If You Could See Me Now by Peter Straub. Linoge loves pitting people against each other and having them place blame on others and there’s some of that going on in If You Could See Me Now.

Amara from Supernatural

I love Amara from Supernatural and for some reason, I think she might really enjoy the book Dead Lines. There’s just so much going on in the book and a lot of death and darkness. As a bonus, I think she’d love the song Paint It Black as well – the Vanessa Carlton version especially!

Lucifer and Azazel from Supernatural

Sorry for using so many characters from Supernatural, but they really do have some awesome villains. I think Lucifer might really like Hell Fire, since it’s about revenge and it’s well…creepy! Azazel seems to have a thing with fire, so yeah.

The Outlander Book Tag

I’ve never read the book Outlander, but I thought I would do this tag that I found over at Life and Other Disasters. Thanks for tagging everyone, Kat!

Side Note: only rule to this tag is to not answer with Outlander!

You touch some standing stones, and you get transported back in time. What year would you end up in?

I think it might be cool to go to 1985. I wasn’t born then but a lot of great movies were coming out around then. I think it would be cool to go back in time around then!

Claire is a good nurse. But what type of skill would you want that a fictional character excels at?

I know this is stupid, but for some reason all of a sudden, I can’t seem to name one book where the main character is a writer. I would want to excel at that though!

Jamie and Claire are the ultimate relationship goals. Who is your favorite fictional couple?

I’m gonna say Jane and Michael from Sundays at Tiffany’s.

The ending of Outlander was shocking. What is one book that you read that totally blew your mind?

The Unwanted by John Saul!

Scotland has lots of castles and we see a few in Outlander. What fictional kingdom would you want to live in?

Not sure. I do think that InkHeart is a very magical book. I haven’t read it in a while, but if I remember correctly, there’s a lot of great imagery, etc.

Outlander has some very steamy scenes. What is your favorite romance novel?

The Jacobite Rebellion is a huge plot point in Outlander. What is one of your favourite battles from a book?

I honestly don’t read a lot of books with battles in them.

Jamie and Claire get married very unexpectedly. What fictional character would you like to marry on a whim?

If I was older, Michael Anderson from Stephen King’s Storm of the Century. Seriously, he’s kind, smart, and super cute!

Scotland is a very beautiful place. What fictional world would you love to visit?

If you could change the past, would you?

Nope! I think I’ve seen enough time travel movies and TV shows to know that it never ends well! However, I honestly don’t think time travel could ever be possible!

The Bohemian Rhapsody Book Tag!

boh

Kat from Life and Other Disasters is always getting tagged for these awesome book tags! She tagged everyone so I decided to participate! Thanks Kat for sharing this great tag!

1. Mama, just killed a man – A fictional character’s death that really upset you?

I’m actually going to pick a movie for this one. I don’t want to give away who dies though, but someone dies in Independence Day and it kind of bums me out! The person dies fairly early on.

2. Carry on, carry on – Pick a book that was hard to keep reading but was worth it in the end?

Truth or Die by James Patterson. It took me forever to read for some reason, but it was good.

3. Sends shivers down my spine – pick a book with a beautiful spine/cover?

Ink Heart by Cornelia Funke!

4. Goodbye everybody, I’ve got to go – A book that you couldn’t finish?

It’s not that it wasn’t good (the part I read of it), I just couldn’t get into it for some reason. I will definitely try again though!

5. Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening – which book did you find very, very frightening?

Hell Fire by John Saul. The imagery was great and the book was pretty creepy! My second choice would be Nathaniel by John Saul as well.

6. Bismillah, no! We will not let you go – which book/series do you wish there had been more of?

I don’t honestly know. More John Saul ghost books would be nice!

7. Mamma mia, mamma mia – which book/series should be made into a musical?

Interesting question. Ooh, maybe One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. I know they have a movie, but a musical might be cool!

8. The head banging bit – Which book made you face-palm?

A lot of Classics! Ugh!

9. Oh baby, can’t do this to me, baby – pick a moment from a book where you felt like the author was being mean to you?

Hmmm, I don’t know about feeling the author was mean to me, but while I was reading Hell Fire, I kept wondering how Beth’s step-sister and grandmother could be so mean! I couldn’t stand them!

10. Nothing really matters to me – which character/s did you not care about?

Polar Bears and Duane in If You Could See Me Now.

Totally Should Have…Book Tag

totally

So I discovered this tag on Kat’s blog, Life and Other Disasters, and thought I would participate!

TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…GOTTEN A SEQUEL:

I think I’m going to go with The Unwanted by John Saul. I definitely would have liked to know what happened after the end of the book.

TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…HAD A SPIN OFF SERIES:

Maybe If You Could See Me Now by Peter Straub. I think it would be cool to see what they did after the end of the book and have a series of adventures between the two characters at the end. I can’t say much more without giving away what the first book was about. I definitely recommend you read it by the way!

AN AUTHOR WHO TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…WRITTEN MORE BOOKS:

John Saul. I know he wrote quite a few books, but I think he should have written more. Also, I think he should have written more ghost stories because the ones I read were amazing!

A CHARACTER WHO TOTALLY SHOULD’VE… ENDED UP WITH SOMEONE ELSE:

I’m not quite sure. I’m going to go with Miles from If You Could See Me Now. I guess I just wish he could have found true happiness.

TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…HAD A MOVIE FRANCHISE:

I’m just going to say two separate books and yes, their both by John Saul. The Unwanted, Hell Fire, and Nathaniel were all GREAT books. I would have loved to see movies created from them!

TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…HAD A TV SHOW:

I’m going to go with Truth or Die by James Patterson. I think it would have been cool to tune in every week and watch the adventures of the two main characters.

TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…HAD ONLY ONE POINT OF VIEW:

I’m skipping this one. I have no idea.

TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…HAD A COVER CHANGE:

I actually own a much cooler copy of this book with a different cover! I can’t seem to find it online though. Anyway, I’m not a fan of this one…I don’t even understand it.

TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…KEPT THE ORIGINAL COVERS:

Again, I’m going to skip this one.

TOTALLY SHOULD’VE…STOPPED AT BOOK ONE:

I’m not really sure. I will say though that while I read Ink Heart, I never read the ones to follow.

The Coffee Book Tag!

coffee

So Kat from Life and Other Disasters did another awesome book tag! I decided to take it upon myself to complete it as well. So, without further ado…here are the questions!

BLACK

A series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans.

Hmmm…I’m gonna go with the Harry Potter books. I mean, they weren’t really hard to get into and I liked them at the time, but I feel they were overrated. Meanwhile, a lot of other people are in love with them!

PEPPERMINT MOCHA

I’m gonna cheat on this one…well, sort of. I don’t really read this book a lot, but I own it. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens!

HOT CHOCOLATE

A favorite children’s book.

I honestly don’t really have one. When I was younger though, I was in love with this Barney ant book!

DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO

A book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

I’m gonna name two here: Nathaniel and The Unwanted by John Saul! Great, suspenseful books!

STARBUCKS

A book you see everywhere.

Ha, this is funny because there is a Starbucks everywhere! When it comes to books though, I dunno. I hear about The Girl on the Train and stuff a lot.

THAT HIPSTER COFFEE SHOP

A book by an indie author (a shoutout).

I simply don’t know.

OOPS! I ACCIDENTALLY GOT DECAF

A book you were expecting more from

I hate to say this (plus I’m not sure how fair it is to say, since I didn’t give the book much of a chance), but I couldn’t get into Harlan Coben’s Missing You. I’m not sure why, either. I just couldn’t get myself to keep reading. I will one day though!

THE PERFECT BLEND

A book or series that was both bitter and sweet, but ultimately satisfying.

I have the perfect one for this! One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey.

GREEN TEA

A book or series that is quietly beautiful.

I’m not sure what this means, but this is a nice romance book. Sunday’s at Tiffany’s by James Patterson (a good movie too, though mine broke! 😦  )

CHAI TEA

A book or series that makes you dream of far off places.

Well, maybe not of a real place, but Inkheart by Cornelia Funke is a good book abut the beautiful idea of characters coming to life.

EARL GREY

Favorite classic.

I’m not really a fan of classics, so I’m just going to say One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. I don’t think it’s really considered a classic, but it’s an older book and really good (so is the movie by the way! I highly recommend it!)

The Friends Book Tag!

friends

Okay so Kat at Life and Other Disasters did this awesome book tag! My favorite TV show is Friends so I couldn’t pass it by. However, instead of doing all books, I might do some shows/movies as well. So without further ado, here are the questions!

THE ONE WHERE EDDIE WON’T GO – A CHARACTER I WISH WOULD JUST GO AWAY:

Eric Cavanaugh’s father in The Unwanted by John Saul. I can’t remember the father’s name at the moment, but I HATE him! He’s a total a** and the whole time I just wanted him to die. Of course, there are a few characters in that book like that, but Eric’s father takes the cake!

THE ONE WHERE ROSS AND RACHEL TAKE A BREAK – FAVORITE BREAK UP SCENE:

This is hard. Can I pick Friends when Ross and Rachel take a break? The part where Ross is kissing Rachel and trying to make her forgive him but she can’t makes me almost cry. I guess I would be cheating to pick that though. Ah…what the heck!? I pick that scene for now. If I come up with anything else, I’ll let you know!

THE ONE WITH ALL THE KISSING – A BOOK WITH LOTS OF KISSING:

Oh jeez, another tough one. I don’t really read a lot of books where there’s a lot of kissing honestly. Let’s just go with the beginning of Truth or Die by James Patterson. There’s not that much kissing, but it’s all I could come up with! Sorry! There’s a lot of kissing in the TV show One Tree Hill though!

THE LAST ONE – FAVORITE SERIES FINALE:

Ha, this is funny because when it comes to shows, it’s Friends for sure! However, when it comes to books, I’d have to go with The Unwanted again because the ending was so unexpected!

THE ONE WITH A BLACKOUT – A SCENE I’D LIKE TO FORGET:

Hmm…I’m gonna go with a scene from the movie Bag of Bones. It was really creepy. If you watch the movie, maybe you’ll know what I mean. I don’t want to ruin it by saying.

I’m adding a book scene to this. I just started reading Shadows by John Saul and there’s this really graphic scene that I really wish I wouldn’t have read. :/

THE ONE WHERE CHANDLER CAN’T CRY – A BOOK THAT DID NOT MAKE YOU AS EMOTIONAL AS OTHERS:

Ooh, while maybe not “emotional” as in sad, I’m going to define emotional in this case as a book I didn’t think was as good as everyone thought. Now I know this will upset a lot of fans, but the Harry Potter series! I read most of the books and while they were written pretty well, I wasn’t as in love with them as everyone else was!

THE ONE WHERE JOEY DOESN’T SHARE FOOD – A BOOK YOU WON’T EVER LEND:

Wow, this seems like such a harsh question! Maybe Deadlines by Greg Bear because when asked, I always say it’s my favorite (even though I haven’t read it in a while). Either that or Nathaniel. Also, I once lent a book to someone and that didn’t go well so I bought another copy. Chances are I wouldn’t lend out that one again either!

By the way, The One Where Joey Doesn’t Share Food is a GREAT episode! 🙂

THE ONE WITH THE THUMB – A RECENT READ THAT YOU WOULD GIVE TWO THUMBS UP TO:

Hellfire! You can read my review here!

THE ONE WITH THE ICK FACTOR – A BOOK WITH A PET PEEVE:

Okay, I’m TOTALLY going with a movie here. The Wizard of Oz! I hate when in books, movies, or TV shows, something happens and it ends up being all a dream! UGH!

THE ONE WITH THE LESBIAN WEDDING – FAVORITE LGBTQ BOOK COUPLE:

I feel horrible, but I can’t think of one at the moment!
