Hi everybody! Today I’d like to share with you all how thankful I am for your support. As many of you know, life isn’t always easy and knowing that you have family and friends who care for and love you can make all the difference.
I’ve met many friends through blogging. While I haven’t met any of you in person, I can’t tell you how much your friendship means to me. Anxiety is not an easy thing to go through and knowing that I can count on you guys to really listen and respect what I have to say feels so incredibly wonderful. Really, words can’t describe how happy I am to have you in my life.
I’d like to go even further and say that I admire those of you who have shared your own stories of struggling – that is not an easy thing to do. Whether you’re a person who is relatively open about your life or someone who is rather shy, talking about your struggles can be difficult. Some people tend to be understanding, while others simply choose to walk away when others need them the most. With this being said, to share a part of you that you’re not always proud of can be a very hard thing to do. I admire those of you who have spoken up about your feelings and who try your hardest to help others. Also, even if you haven’t talked about whatever you struggle with, you are still strong. Whenever you’re ready to talk about what plagues your mind, there will be people who are kind and considerate.
So again I’d like to thank everyone who supports me in my journey to get through anxiety. I’d like to thank those of you who share your struggles in order to help yourself and others and those of you who take the time to listen and respect those around you. Thank you for your friendship and kindness. As cliché as it may sound, you really do make the world a better place!
Okay, I have some pretty exciting news! I have officially reached over 1,000 followers on here! So many of you are such amazing friends and have continued to be utterly supportive throughout the years. I cannot thank you enough! I originally started this blog when my therapist and dad both told me that writing about my anxiety might help me feel better, along with help others to realize that they are not alone in their struggles. Just thinking that I could have made a difference means the world to me and the fact that so many of you have been here for me is truly inspirational and appreciated!
I know that I haven’t been on here as much as I used to be, and for that, I’m sorry. I intend to check in on you guys more often because so many of you have been here for me when I’ve needed someone to talk to. I wish I could express in words what that’s meant to me, but I don’t think that I can. Please just trust me when I say that your friendship and loving comments have truly made a difference.
I hope you all know that if you ever need to talk, I’m here for you. I hope you also know that even if it feels like you’re alone in dealing with your struggles, you’re not. There will always be people that will care about you and love you, and if you look carefully, you will find someone that you can trust and share your feelings and experiences with.
I also want to tell you this – you can get through your struggles and over your obstacles! If you work hard on a consistent basis and never give up, you will succeed. You may not get through your challenges overnight, but if you put in the effort to make progress, it will happen! I know that sometimes it may feel otherwise, I know there are times when I still wonder if I’ll ever get through my anxiety. I have to remember though that I have made progress, because you know what? I have!
So again, thank you to everyone who follows my blog! Thank you to all of the wonderful people I have met on here and to those of you who have been such amazing friends! Thanks for the incredibly kind and supportive comments and for reminding me that I am not alone in my journey of getting through anxiety!
Yesterday I wrote a post on my Rest in Piece Book Blog, entitled A Writer’s Guide to Thankfulness. The post talked about what I’m thankful for as a writer. Today however, since Thanksgiving is approaching, I’d like to take some time to talk about some of the things that I am thankful for in general.
A Loving Family
While I do struggle with dealing with some members of my family and while family is never perfect, I know that they care for me and love me. I know that when I need them the most, my family members will come through for me. Some of them are more supportive than others, but I don’t doubt that they all love me. I know that some people struggle to get along with any of their family members and that sadly, many people don’t have any biological family members left in this world.
Whether talking about the friends I have actually met or those I’ve come to know through blogging, I have so many wonderful friends who listen to me, respect me, and care about me. I think that having people in your life that you feel that you can count on and be yourself around without judgement is so important and precious. The fact that I have people in my life who try their hardest to brighten my day and make me happy is amazing! To know that these individuals truly care for me is even more wonderful. I’m so happy to have people that I can relate to and that can relate to me. I’m so grateful for these friendships.
While I talked about this inA Writer’s Guide to Thankfulness, I’m very thankful for my talents: to write, to listen to others, and to help others. While I know I’m not the best writer in the world, I also believe that I have the power to inspire and help through words. I think that’s a fantastic gift and talent to have. I’m also a very hardworking and dedicated individual which I also think is important.
From attending good schools and graduating college to being offered to write for some amazing people, I’ve been offered some great opportunities that I sometimes wondered if they would ever come my way. I am not only thankful for the opportunities but for the people who offered them to me.
Wonderful Teachers, etc.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have some pretty incredible teachers/professors. These individuals have not only given me great advice and taught me important lessons, but they have also respected me as a human being and shared with me how proud they were that I accomplished the goals that I set out to achieve. I’ve had so many inspiring teachers and for that, I’m utterly grateful.
While I do struggle with anxiety and while that utterly sucks, my health otherwise is pretty good. I know that a lot of people have to deal with a lot of other health issues, so I’m thankful that for the most part, I’m relatively healthy. Along with my health, I’m thankful for having food and shelter!
What are you thankful for? I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and fantastic Thursday!
There’s definitely something to be said about being around people who respect, understand, and care for you. There are so many people in this world that just being around them, brightens your day. These people are amazing and they should be reminded as such. Not only are they there for you, but they make you feel good about yourself. They leave you feeling strong and extra-confident.
Yesterday I got my hair cut by an amazing woman. She’s smart, funny, and kind. She understands what I go through and she makes an effort to make me feel good about myself and really listen to what I have to say. I love having people like this in my life. Though there are some people that will never be able to understand what we go through and who have trouble showing respect, there are others who will go out of their way to make the world a better, kinder place. I am very happy to say that I have people like this in my life.
We should all aspire to be individuals who care for others. We should all offer sincere compliments, a listening ear, and a shoulder to cry on if needed. We should all strive to make someone’s day a little better and you know what? We all have the ability to be that kind of person!
So I first saw this challenge on the blog, Cluttered Stories, and decided that I would participate! While the characters I’m picking don’t fully describe me, they do at times!
1.) Joey Potter (Dawson’s Creek) – Joey is kind, sensitive, and smart! She’s also extremely down to earth and sarcastic at times!
2.) Lorelai Gilmore and Rory Gilmore (Gilmore Girls) – I kind of like to think that I’m like Lorelai and Rory combined. I think I have a lot of the same traits that they both do (smart, sarcastic at times, and kind). They also like to joke around a lot which I love! I also love movies like they do!
3.) Rachel Green (Friends) – While I’m not totally like Rachel, I think I relate to her in a few ways. For one, I love how excited she gets over stuff, even if it’s not things that are a big deal. Also, she’s boy crazy which I can kind of relate to and she gets so excited over cute guys! She’s also sarcastic at times and I’m a firm believer in not cheating on who you’re with, which she clearly also agrees with!
The kind Jenny Marie from Peace From Panic has tagged me for The Happiness Tag! Thank you so much, Jenny Marie! Please check out her great blog!
Five Things That Make Me Happy
1.) Having such a wonderful family – While not everyone in my family understand what I go through and while they can at times be impatient with dealing with my issues, I know they love me and that they are always here for me!
2.) Having such wonderful friends – I have so many great friends and have met so many great people in my life! I have been blessed to get the chance to connect with some wonderful people both through my blog and in person! So thank you guys!
3.) Having the ability to help people through writing – I’ve always enjoyed writing but I never imagined that I’d actually be able to help people. Thanks to my blog and to many individuals who have let me share my experiences, I believe I’ve been able to connect with and help people.
4.) Books – I love being able to read and become part of a new world. Without books and reading, I wouldn’t have become fascinated with writing!
5.) The Great Experiences I’ve Had – Between going to New York City and going to college, I’ve had some great experiences and opportunities!
Hey guys! Can you believe today is the last day of July? Anyway, today’s challenge is favorite season finale. Without a doubt, my favorite season finale is Friends’ The Last One! It’s a great send off for an amazing show and I love it! There’s nothing I would change.
Today’s challenge was actually quite difficult! I love Friends so much and to pick a favorite season was not easy. However, after careful consideration, I’ve chosen season 7! I was just about to take a picture of the DVD when my phone died, so I’ll have to settle for pictures from Google Images!
