The Spirit Animal Award!

I’ve been nominated by Gemma over at Lost to the Dark for The Spirit Animal Award! Thank you so much, Gemma! She is such a kind and caring person! If you haven’t already, please check out her wonderful blog.

The Rules:

  • Post the award picture on your blog.
  • Write a short paragraph about yourself and what your blog means to you.
  • If you could be any animal, what would you be?
  • Pick ten (I’m changing this to however many you want) nominees.

My name is B.G. and for as long as I can remember, I’ve loved to write. I hope to one day be a professional fiction author. While I don’t really have a specific genre in mind that I’d like to write, I do enjoy reading thriller and horror novels. My favorite authors include: Harlan Coben, James Patterson, John Saul, and Peter Straub. In addition to reading and writing, I enjoy watching TV.

For many years, I’ve struggled with anxiety. It’s incredibly difficult dealing with something that not a lot of people understand. However, after my dad recommended that I write about my anxiety, and after my therapist recommended that I start a blog, I found that I was not alone in my struggle. I also discovered that there are so many incredibly kind individuals who are willing to offer their support.

Through blogging, I’ve met so many friends and learned so many things about how to cope with anxiety. I’ve learned that there is no need to struggle alone and that in addition to my family and friends that I have met in person, there are others all around the world who are there to offer a helping hand.

Also, I’ve learned through writing on WordPress, that I can help others. Honestly, I didn’t really know that I had that ability until I began to share my experiences with others. I’ve also been able to connect with others who have given me additional opportunities to write. I am so thankful for everyone’s friendship and for the opportunities I’ve been given to write both through blogging on WordPress and on other blogs!

If I could be any animal, what would it be?

I’d be a dog. Dogs are so curious and intelligent. For the most part, they’re also really kind and gentle. I think they’re a lot smarter than we give them credit for!

My Nominees (in no specific order):

Mary from Mary’s Average Adventures

Kim from Peace, Love, and Patchouli

Sharon from Curious Queendom

Sandy from Sandycademy

Matt from In Silence We Suffer

Jen from The Anxiety Chronicles

Matt from The Seeds 4 Life

Amber from My Journey to Freedom from Anxiety

Carla from The Melodramatic Confessions of Carla Louise

Becky from In Becky’s Head

C. from You’re Not Alone In This World

      1. I feel awful! I really should have nominated you. Sometimes I just forget certain blogs. It’s nothing personal, I just get so caught up on trying to remember everyone and also, at the same time, limit myself!

  1. It’s great that you decided to open up on a blog. And sure enough, everyone is pretty welcoming! 😉 I think my parents have mentioned my sister having anxiety, but I’m not quite sure. I guess I could always ask the bloggers if I ever need help in helping her. xP

  2. Thanks B, I will do this once I get caught up on my WP chores. Just got the high speed internet in and now I can buzz through and like and read things so much quicker. Happy Happy Me 🙂
